ESCADA to sell fashion brands - The Escada-Campaign calls for a temporary halt to protests against Apriori, Cavita and Laurčl

As of 26/05/2009 the Escada group has officially announced that they will be selling their daughter companies Apriori, Cavita and Laurèl. The companies, which till now belonged 100% to ESCADA, have been divested to the financial investor ´mutares´ (Munich). The Global Network Against the Fur Industry assumes that the new owners will now also end the company´s fur trade.
For this reason we are calling for a stop to protests at Apriori, Cavita and Laurèl´s stores for the time being and wait how the new owners and the managers position themselves to the fur trade. Contact will be made with the company management in the next few days. If no decision about the fur trade is met within the next two months, further protests against the company will be organized. Keep alert for more information.
In the mean time we are calling for the demonstrations against ESCADA to be intensified. Furthermore, please phone or email Apriori, Cavita and Laurèl and its new owners and demand an end to the fur trade.
